What is involved
Breast implant surgery is performed under general anaesthetic and will probably require a one night hospital stay. Incisions are made either around the nipple, under the breast or in the armpit area. The implant, which may be saline or silicone, is placed either behind the breast tissue, over the pectoral muscle, or under the muscle. Placement depends on a number of factors, including type of implant and desired result.
Breast feeding
There is no reason why you should not be able to breast feed after having breast implants.
Recovery time
Most breast implant patients return to work and normal activities within two to three days. You may need to lay off heavy exercise for longer. Your surgeon will advise.
