Eye lift

As we age, the effects of gravity and the loss of skin elasticity cause drooping around the eyes. Excess skin below the eye causes wrinkles and bulging, while on the upper lid drooping skin can hang over the lashes.

Eye lift surgery can improve the appearance of both the upper and lower lids, removing excess fat and skin layers and restoring a smoother, more youthful look.

What is involved

Eye lift surgery may be performed under local anaesthetic with sedation, or under general anaesthetic. The surgeon makes incisions along the natural curves of your eye, or in the case of lower eye, along the eye rim. Skin is then separated from underlying tissue. Excess fat, muscle and skin is then removed and the incisions closed with small stitches.

Recovery time

Most eye lift surgery patients look normal after two weeks. There may still be a little bruising and swelling but it will not be very noticeable. However, everyone is different and every surgery is different. Studies have shown that full recovery can take up to a year.

Risks

We always make prospective patients fully aware of the risks of eye lift surgery before they commit to the procedure. A good surgeon can manage the risks, but no surgical procedure is ever risk free.

Eyelid surgery in Spain

Spain is a popular choice for eyelid surgery for Spanish residents and foreigners. Hospitals are first-class and regulations strict, making Spain a safer choice for your surgery than many other cosmetic surgery tourism destinations.
